Personal Helpers & Mentors Program (PHaMs) - AngliCareSA
The Personal Helpers & Mentors Program (PHaMs) is a specific mental health program within ANGLICARE that provide case management services for people with complex care needs.
The Program focuses on strengths, that is, what people with mental illness can do, rather than what they can not do. It also focuses on a recovery model by demonstrating that people with mental illness can lead a fulfilled life in the community with the same opportunities as other people.
People who join the program work with their own Personal Helper and Mentor (PHaMs) who support them on their personal recovery journey, building trust and working on the participant-led goals. Participation is voluntary and the workers respect the Participants’ wishes in identifying what they want from the program. They encourage the Participants’ families, carers and friends to be involved in the program with them – if this is what the Participant wants.
PHaMs focuses on strengths and what people can do, rather than want they can’t. PHaMs is recovery-based and supports people to lead a full and rewarding life in their community.
This PHaMs covers the Barossa, Gawler, Mallala and Light regions.
