Metropolitan Youth Health

A free, confidential health service for young people aged between 12 and 25.

Our services can assist you if you are experiencing health and well being issues and are:

  • Under the Guardianship of the Minister (or previously have been)
  • Aboriginal
  • Pregnant or parenting (under 20 years)
  • Are of have been in Adelaide Youth Training Centre
  • A recently arrived refugee
  • Questioning your sexuality or same sex attracted (under 18 years)
  • Homeless.

 

Our Team

We have a team of workers who can help you:

  • Doctors
  • Nurses and Midwives
  • Aboriginal Clinical Health Workers
  • Youth Health Workers.

 

Our Services

  • Drop-in medical and nursing clinics
  • You can receive a specific Health Check if you are living in care, are under the Guardianship of the Minister or Aboriginal
  • Counselling, support and help to get the services you need
  • Group activities and peer support
  • We may be able to come to go to where you are, either at another service or where you live.

  • the Youth Health Service has an ‘open door’ policy and when you contact us we will ensure that you receive a service that meets your needs.
  • When you contact the Youth Health Service, you will meet with one of our workers who will talk to you and ask for information that will assist us to provide you with the help that you need.

 

After your first contact with the Youth Health Service you may:

  • be assigned a worker and together you will develop a care plan
  • receive information or a service to deal with your current need and then be referred to another service that is right for you, for your ongoing needs
  • Any information that you provide our service about your health needs will be treated as strictly confidential and will not be shared with any other service without your consent.
