What is Blue Light?

Blue Light provides young people with entertainment and activities in an environment free from alcohol, drugs, smoking and violence.

Blue Light SA has developed into a Crime Reduction Initiative which aims primarily at identifying and addressing the needs of young people who are at risk.

Gawler Blue Light

The Gawler Blue Light committee comprises Police Officers and Community Members, including youth, who all volunteer their time. The committee endeavours to work alongside other youth agencies where possible and welcomes those with a passion for helping youth.

Gawler Blue Light has a proud history of helping to launch and support other branches and activities, and is able to travel to share their events experience and provide the use of their equipment. i.e. Two Wells BL, Barossa BL, Eudunda, Riverton & Georgetown events and the Canoe SA ‘Team Paddle Challenge’.

Gawler Blue Light was awarded  ‘Community Group of the Year’ in the 2009 Australia Day Awards.

Gawler Blue Light also conducts the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program for ages 14 – 25 years, including conducting the Adventurous Journey components.
